JAPAN

Japan is an intricate blend of East and West. Its cities may look Westernized. Often disappointingly as so, but beyond first impressions there's very little about this Asian nation that could lull peoples into thinking they're in the West. Yet Japan also differs greatly from its Asian neighbors.

Japanese Ceramic new setting perm unlike conventional perming rods, it uses specially-heated ceramic rods. Unlike the severe iron-curlers of the past which caused irreparable damage to the hair shaft, these ceramic rods manage to transmit the heat required to set the perm but with none of the damage.

ABOUT HAIR

Each strand consists of three layers: cuticle, cortex and medulla.
The cuticle is the top layer of hair. Like the skin, it is made up of a protein called keratin. It is transparent but very strong. It is layered fish-like scales and helps the cuticle protect the next layer. These scales can have as many as 7 overlapping strata, or as few as 3, bound together with a putty like substance. The cuticle reflects light, giving the hair its luster. If the cuticle is damaged, hair is dull and lacks luster.
The cortex is the thickest part of the hair strands and makes up more than 75% of the hair, providing strength and elasticity.

HAIRDRESSERS WEEK

9 MAY - 15 MAY

In an effort to promote appreciation for hairdressers around the world, let's promoting 9th May to 15th May in every year as Hairdressers Week.

UNITE HAIRDRESSERS!
Hard-working professionals in many other fields are already recognized annually with a day, a week or even a month officially designated for them. For instance teachers, nurses, and even secretaries are all honored at certain times of the year for their contribution to society. They are all deserving of this recognition and so too are hairdressers, the unsung heroes behind the scene who strive to make people look their best.

Act now and be a small part of history as we make our mark on the calendars of the world so that hairdressers can finally earn the recognition and respect of the public.
