1st National Hair Association is Launched

Professionals who are in the hairdressing industry or related industry now have a proper avenue to depend and look for helps from the newly formed Malaysian Hairdressing Association (Persatuan Pendandan Rambut Malaysia) or MHA.

This first and ever in history after many years of independent, the national level of Malaysian Hairdressing Association is formed, it will increase awareness of their industry professional rights and developing hairdressing industry. Its committee members are Teh Siew Yong as president, Billy Lim as secretary, Jason Wong as deputy president, Francis Tan as treasurer, Winnie Loo and Alex Lim as vice presidents.

The MHA was officially launched by YB Datuk Wira Dr. Fong Chan Onn (Minister of Human Resources, Malaysia) on Monday, 21 Febrary 2005, 3.00pm at the Bilik Kuala Lumpur, Level 5, Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

The MHA will work toward their industry common goal and carry out activities to promote, grow and upgrade the positive image of hairdressing profession for more profitable, productive and respectable industry. Whether it is about training, business expending, better career opportunity, problem encountering or mainly celebrity activity, the association will play a proactive role.

The association will also empower its members by give more valuables and cost effective benefits, service and guidance optimum educational opportunities. It will make recommendations to government for better economic environment for the hairdressing industry. The association also will continue drive hairdressing careers and businesses, provide networking opportunities, promote and develop the industry.

The MHA's mission is to support industry unity and programmed which contribute to positive professional image and advancement of hairdressing. Its committee also planned to select their representative from every state and would go on an aggressive recruitment campaign.
