In a glittering finale to the two day event - Sunsilk Salon Awards, Shirin Merchant from Mumbai bagged the coveted 'Hairdresser of the Year Award- 2002'. Shirin Merchant was also declared winner in the Inter Salon and Beautiful Brides categories and Helen Chen from Kolkata won in the Hairdressing category. Regional winners from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore vied for the honors in three categories of - 'Beautiful Brides', 'Inter Salon' and 'Hairdressing'.
The regional winners had to demonstrate their expertise in hair fashion on the models in full view of the audience. The hair creations were judged by leading hair experts consisting of Biagio Morreale - International Hair expert - London, Jawed Habib and Samantha Kochhar - Sunsilk Hair Experts along with makeup artists Cory Walia, Marvie Beck. Well known models Reshma Bombaywalla, Priyadarshini Pradhan, Tora Khasgir, Shamita Singhal, Koyna Mitra and Ishita Bajpai walked the ramp in stunning hair and beauty makeovers that elicited an enthusiastic response from the salons.

Biagio Morreale, International hair expert who demonstrated the latest International trends in haircuts, styles, colours said "The interest and enthusiasm shown by all the participating Salons is incredible. The workshop session was very fulfilling and interactive and generated a lot of excitement.
