With friseurportal.de the Wella Group provides a virtual information, communication & service centre for hairdressers.
The new website www.friseurportal.de, launched on the Web just a few days ago, is the first portal to be developed in Germany specifically for hairdressers. This means that the hairdressing business unit of the Wella Group - including the Wella, Welonda, Kadus, Londa, Tondeo and Sebastian brands - can now also use the Internet to deliver the services hairdressers need to run a successful salon.
In the words of Fritz Kuhn, General Manager of the Hairdressing Business Unit of Wella AG: "The portal opens up new, innovative ways to communicate with our customers, which we see as complementing our proven, highly successful approach based on direct personal contact."
Friseurportal.de is a combination of current news, editorial articles, trade information, special offers, and material to amuse and entertain. Under the headings of sector news, management, shopping, lifestyle and dialogue, hairdressers can catch up on the latest hairstyling and fashion trends, helpful information on running a salon and business management practice, added-value services - e.g. interactive training units, known as "Partnershops" - and humour and entertainment. The portal features a wide range of communication opportunities, including a personal e-mail address.
The appeal of the information and entertainment spectrum of friseurportal.de is further enhanced by links established with over 25 cooperation partners - for example, Tomorrow Focus AG, CondưNet.de GmbH, Amazon, Fleurop, Palmers, ProMarkt and Clips Verlag. These services are aimed at both salon owners and staff, and are freely available to all hairdressers, apart from a small number of especially high-value services and shopping privileges that are restricted to registered users, and reserved exclusively for Wella Group customers.
The hairdressing industry has some ground to make up in this area, and is an area of huge potential for increased use of the Internet. The Wella Group sees major opportunities as more and more hairdressers go "on-line", particuarly since this is very much a young people's industry, with around 40,000 trainees learning the trade each year. Wella anticipates approximately 10,000 regular users after 1 year.
