6 June 2002 UK, The England captain is well known for taking up the fashion gauntlet, daring to break trends with his sarongs and dramatic styles.
And the Manchester United star's latest mohican look - which is threatening to become an icon of the World Cup 2002 - also appears to have caught on.
Chris Berry, co-owner of a salon in Swansea, said the demand for the Beckham look has been "unbelievable."
Mr Berry said staff at the Hair Business salon were well prepared for the change in style.
Three of the stylists, including Mr Berry, went to the Vidal Sassoon academy in London in March to learn the finer points of the mohican cut.
"We do several different versions of the cut because what David has is quiet extreme," he said.
"You can adapt the cut to the person to suit their hair and personality."
"The good thing about this style compared to his last close shaved look is that it is a bit more of a technical haircut.
"To do it properly you have got to know what you are doing."
The 32-year-old said they are having at least two or three requests for the haircut every day.
However, the salon has yet to have any girls asking for the 'Beckham look'.
